Guest Speaker: Alberto Mares Commissioner Lane Grayson Department of Development Alberto Mares is currently serving as the new Director over the Department of Development for Ellis County. Alberto has been with the County for approximately six (6) weeks. Overall, he has over 14 ½ years of planning and development experience. He has strong roots to the DFW area having been raised in southeast Dallas and graduating from Skyline High School. Prior to joining county government, Alberto worked in municipal governments serving the City of Midlothian in different capacities for the last 13 ½ years, which experienced rapid growth during his tenure there, and he served as an intern for the City of Arlington?s Planning Department for one (1) year during his last year of graduate school. He brings extensive experience to the County working in both a rapid growth and fast-paced office environment. He achieved his highest professional success while at the City of Midlothian, ultimately ascending to the position of Planning Manager, where he performed many important duties but specialized in authoring development regulations, development review of residential and nonresidential projects, zoning, permit review, comprehensive plans, thoroughfare plans, roadway impact fees, annexation, strategic planning, budgeting, and administering many other planning and development-related policies set forth by the City Council. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor?s of Environmental Design (Architecture) and received his Masters? degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Arlington. He looks forward to working closely with the Commissioner Grayson and the rest of the Commissioners? Court to ensure that quality growth continues to be part of the future development of Ellis County. |

Discussion will include topics of interest specific to Precinct 2 as well as the entire county. Commissioner Grayson is eager to share new initiatives for road and bridge maintenance, repair and construction and new web based communications for constituents to receive regular progress reports of work completed as well as new scheduled work to come.
